Asus Eee PC 1225B – a netbook worth looking at

Asus has launched some amazing netbooks back in 2011 but it’s time to turn the page to 2012 and see what else Asus has prepared for us. One of the first netbooks to be launched this year is the Asus Eee PC 1225B which you’ll find more about here, a small workhorse which manages to handle almost everything you can throw at it. Let’s see more in detail what this piece of technology has to offer.

When you first look at the 1225B you will notice that it doesn’t have a SeaShell shape. This netbook is the first to get the Flare design from Asus, being thicker in the middle and just slightly thinner at the sides. The top of the netbook is made out of plastic and has a matte finish, while the bottom is made out of textured plastic which provides additional grip. Overall, you’ll surely find this 11.6 inch netbook very light, weighing in a good 3.2 pounds.

Moving on to the screen, you’ll find out that the Asus Eee PC 1225B comes with a 1366 x 768 pixel display. Unfortunately we didn’t find it to be amazing due to the glossy finish which makes using it in direct sunlight a real hassle and the poor viewing angles. No matter how you consider it, the screen is a bit “undesized” for this netbook. They could have done much better.

Performance-wise, the 1225B reviewed also on TipsAvenue.com compensates for the poor screen. You will be able to get this netbook in two configurations: a top of the line version with an AMD Fusion E-450 APU, 4GB of RAM and a maximum hard drive of 720GB and a slower version running the AMD Fusion C-60 APU which will probably boost 2GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive.

You’ll find that everyday tasks are done in the wink of an eye on the Asus Eee PC 1225B and the device handles perfectly most of the time. It’s only when you run CAD software or video/audio processing software on it that you’ll notice the difference between a netbook and a laptop.

To sum up, we consider the Asus Eee PC 1225B to be one of the best options you can consider when you are in the search for a netbook. With a lot of RAM, a good CPU and good overall performance, it’s a keeper. Too bad for that glossy screen though which might piss off some of you.
